That's not true at all. The exact opposite is true. The ORGANIZED ZIONIST
LOBBY IN THE US
pushed hard on Truman to support Israel. There is a well-know quote by
Truman, something to the extent that he has to support the Jewish claim
because they are a part of the voting
constituency whereas the Palestinians are not. Also I remember clearly
reading that Zionist leaders instructed the American Zionists not to push
the government to let Jews emigrate to the US, because that would hurt the
aims of Zionism to create a viable Jewish state in Palestine.
