I wonder who it is on this list that you think support Ahmadinejad? Louis
wrote that he thought Ahmadinejad didn't say what had been claimed, but I'm
willing to give Louis the benefit of the doubt that he misread the quote,
and he certainly never voiced support for him. I wrote that Ahamdinejad was
indeed denying the holocaust, and merely pointed out that your claim that
his phrase "Zionist claim" applied to the holocaust itself and not to its
"claim" on Israel was a misreading of what he said. You disagree based on
the original, and perhaps you're not a native English speaker, but as one I
can tell you that IN ENGLISH, the phrase means what I said. But that is
indeed a minor point, and has nothing whatsoever to do with supporting
Ahmadinejad.

What I, and I venture to say most comrades on this list, support is the
right of Iran to pursue its own path, free of slander and misinterpretation
of statements in the Western media, free of threats of bombing or economic
sanctions, and free of invasions. Speaking for myself, I support the right
to defend themselves against potential threats by any means necessary, up to
and including nuclear weapons (not saying the latter is a good idea, but
it's their decision). And I recognize that one way that imperialism paves
the way for such bombings, sanctions, and blockades, is by demonizing the
leadership of such countries, up to and including lying about what they have
said or interpreting what they say in the worst possible light. Such as, for
example, constantly claiming that Iran is intent on making nuclear weapons
was Iran has said plainly they have no such intent.

None of that has anything whatsoever to do with "supporting Ahmadinejad,"
nor with supporting or excusing any inane and reprehensible denials of the
deaths of six million people.
