[Marxism] "Iran's Ahmadinejad says Holocaust a myth"

There is some background to this, however, it all leads to a form of Holocaust
Revisionism. First, *any* of the translations of this that I've seen, [here and
in the papers] leads one to suggest that Ahmadinejad is catering to something
that is *widespread* among at least Arab intellectuals, if not among Iranian
ones. The Free Arab Voice, for example, is a major exponent of Revisionism,
because their method is one that caters to "victimology", that is, attacking
the murder of European Jewry because that's the method of the Zionists, ergo,
attack their argument. Of course, they become trapped, because if the 'claim'
of the Zionists (and most historians, communists, etc) IS true, then they'd be
in the position of having to support the Zionist movement's claim to Palestine.

Revisionism is a growth industry in the Arab world (I can't speak for the Farsi
speaking world, I haven't really looked)...even among secular Arab
intellectuals and it needs to be combated, IMO, because it's doing a great
disservice to the cause of a democratic and united Palestine.

It's a terrible slippery slope to start down. Ahmadinejad is no different. After
all, Eli, there can be no doubt as to WHY Ahmadinejad would raise the issue of
the murder of 6 million Jews other than to tear it down in a fit of Revisionist
nonsense. If he didn't, he'd be *clear* and state something like "The Nazi
murder of millions of Jews does not justify the expulsion of Palestinians from
their land and the colonization of it by settlers...". He doesn't even *hint*
that this is what he's getting at.
