Mahmood,

As someone who defended Ahmadinejad on the occasion of his previous
controversial statement, that "Israel should be wiped off the map" (which I
took, and still take, to be a literal statement about eliminating the
political entity called Israel from the map of the world, not, as it was
taken by the Western media, having anything to do with killing Jews or
Israelis), I agree with you that Louis misread the latest statement. The
phrase "we don't accept this claim," if it is indeed accurately translated,
certainly means that Ahmadinejad is doubting the death of millions of Jews
at the hands of Hitler.

However, I believe you misread the last phrase in today's statement. You
wrote:

The "Zionist claim" in that sentence is NOT the claim of "murder and burning
of 6 million Jews," but the "Zionist claim" to the land of Israel as a
RESULT of that murder and burning.
