Re: [Marxism] Richard Pryor - another view
I notice that in the mainstream press and sadly on some progressive
sites,
such as this - that in the coverage of Richard Pryor's life, no
mention is
made of his famous homophobic and sexist rantings. I remember his
"speech"
at the 1977 Hollywood Bowl at a rally opposing Anita Bryant - where he
was
invited and from the stage attacks the audience and gives support to
Anita
Bryant.
It is another example, of how the lives of Gays and Lesbians do not
matter,
to many non-Gays. If a white entertainer made constant racist remarks,
would
he be "remembered" in a kind way on this site?
Did he ever change or even more important from a moral point of view,
did he ever acknowledge that he was completely wrong?
