[Marxism] H-HOAC scholarship

There's a mailing list called History of American Communism (HOAC) at
H-Humanities, a generally worthless server for scholarly mailing lists
geared to trivia such as jobs announcements, journal publication dates,
etc. I check in on HOAC occasionally to see if somebody accidentally posted
something actually thoughtful about the politics of the CP. But usually it
is something like this that I am crossposting just for laughs:

This In Harvey Klehr's Raleigh address

>, he writes "we
now know" that suggestions of photographs of J. Edgar Hoover dressed as a woman
were "fabricated by the Soviet KGB."

Can H-HOAC readers direct me to sources on the Soviet role in this issue?
