[Marxism] Stakeholder - origin of the concept

Walter,

These should help:

http://www.stthom.edu/cbes/marianne_jennings.html
http://www.law.duke.edu/journals/lcp/articles/lcp67dautumn2004p109.htm
http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~odw/98Def'nStakeh'rStatusIABS.html

Although the concept seems to have appeared after the 1929 US Stock Market
Crash, it seems that the term "stakeholder" came to being in a 1963 Stanford
Research Institute (SRI) internal memorandum. The third link above says
this:

"Tracing the term "stakeholder" to a 1963 Stanford Research Institute (SRI)
internal memorandum, Freeman (1984) crystallized the stakeholder perspective
(cf. Barnard, 1938)."

If you look at this book by Freeman, you may learn more I believe.

In these days the stakeholder concept is on the rise again, thanks to the
market crashes of 2000 and 2001.

Sabri
