Re: [Marxism] Re: Brazilians urged to take to streets(responsetoRichard)
No, I don't think FF lays out what the stakes are, or the line up of
forces; FF lays out a mythology of "national bourgeoisie" in conflict
with international capital, of a supposed move for "independence," for
"continental integration" which is supposed to crack the imperial
control. It's nothing but the same old same old about 'splits in the
ruling class,' and popular, democratic fronts. Bunch of baloney.
There is "no class struggle, aside," as you so correctly classify FF's
analysis, and so incorrectly apprehend the real issue. This is all about
class struggle. The compromise of the bourgeoisie, national and
international, in the election/tolerance of the Lula government, is all
about containing the class struggle-- rolling back the insurgency that
saw/sees, and seesaws, in rural struggles over land seizures,
indigenous peoples; and in urban struggles with real attacks on living
standards, employment levels, and wage rates.
100 years after the first soviets verified the incapacity of the
"national" bourgeoisie to the tasks of real social emancipation, FF
wants us all to believe in the viability of a national, democratic,
bourgeoisie. Oxymoron. The bourgeoisie exists nowhere as a national
formation. Democracy is the democracy of private property. Everywhere.
No we don't support US intervention in Brazil, but when and if it comes
it will come because of Lula, because of the "national bourgeoisie,"
because of "democratic front," because of the baloney stageism that the
left clings to. Look at the history of Latin American struggles. Look
at the MNR's "national revolution" in Bolivia and how it decomposed.
Jeez... we didn't support UK intervention in the Malvinas against
Argentina. We opposed it. That doesn't mean we didn't also oppose the
junta as being antithetical to the workers' struggle .
And the Clinton thing.... I have to stop before I start saying
inappropriate things about blowjobs and handjobs; too late...
