Hurricane havoc: Is global warming to blame?
<http://www.greenleft.org.au/back/2005/652/652p9.htm>

The terrible devastation wreaked on New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina in
late August, which took the lives of at least 964 people, and the
subsequent political crisis caused by the failure of US President George
Bush's government to adequately respond to the disaster, catapulted the
issue of industry-induced global warming into the headlines again. [Full

Iraq war, civil liberties, union rights: We will not be silenced!

This year, massive attacks on workers' and union rights and our civil
liberties have been unleashed, but he won't silence us! The
600,000-strong Australia-wide protests on November 15 showed that workers
won't stand for Prime Minister Howard's industrial relations
legislation. This week's Green Left Weekly highlights the widespread
opposition to these laws, the 'anti-terror' legislation and Australia's
ongoing participation in the brutal occupation of Iraq.
