[Marxism] Propsal for Ending the War in Iraq

A proposal for ending the war in Iraq:

(1) Immediate end to the war in Iraq and withdrawal of all US military,
CIA and all others engaged in the war effort within 3 months.

US should face the fact that it has lost the war. Continued indefinite
US presence in Iraq is certain only to perpetuate the current death and
destruction indefinitely.

(2) An apology from the United States to the Iraqi people for unjustly
invading their country, occupying their country, killing thousands of
their people and destroying vast amounts of their resources.

(3) Asking for forgiveness from the people of this country, especially
from those families who have lost their loved ones for Bush?s lies.

(4) Admitting to the world that the US war in Iraq was illegal, and
submitting those who are responsible to trial by an international war
crimes tribunal.

(5) A vow not to establish any military base in Iraq or anywhere else.

(6) Compensating for the damages due to the war by:

(a) Making Haliburton pay back billions it has stolen from the US
taxpayers;

(b) Imposing a special tax, especially on those who have financially
benefited from the war, for a massive long-term economic development
aid for Iraq, like the Marshall Plan for Europe after WWII; and,

(c) Compensating American families who have suffered death and loss of
income, as well as for health benefits of the returning soldiers and
for their rehabilitation back into civil society.

(7) An appeal to the people, and exert all the influence (political and
economic) it has on the governments of the countries in the region to
create a regional body that would help the Iraqi people with the
transition from an occupied country to a free and stable country of the
kind the people of Iraq chooses. This body should cease to exist after
a specified time of its engagement in Iraq, and can be overseen by the
UN Security Council. US must provide the resources for this transition,
but not interfere in the internal affairs of Iraq

(8) Accept Iraqi sovereignty and deal with Iraq on the basis of
international laws and protocols.

(9) Supporting a just solution of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

(10) Renounce Wolfowitz/Pearl formulated Bush?s US-hegemony based
foreign policy; instead, adopt a national security policy that respects
national security interests of others, based on non-militaristic
foreign policy, economic cooperation, respect for local economies,
cultures, human needs and protection of the environment.

(11) Adopt a nuclear non-proliferation policy that involves ALL nuclear
powers, starting with the US, to decommission all current nuclear
weapons stockpile.
