The basis of my assessment is an observation,
admittedly from a distance, of rather obvious facts.

And, in fact, I refrained from the assessment I wasn't
able to make, which was whether or not the limits of
the process add up to it being "successful" (worth
persisting with) or not.

As for being a member of the Greens, well, I'm
extremely unfinancial and don't attend meetings. :)

This is, of course, untrue.

Surprise surprise, the rally against Howard's IR laws
that is on tomorrow was organised by a coalition of
the Greens and ALP unionists, plus a couple of other
odds and ends.

Finally, for the record, I had no awareness of Adler's
article at the time I made my comments. If I had, I
would have undoubtedly phrased things differently.
