No, the polemic about not dissolving independent workers' parties into
some bourgeois nationalist current in 1850 is not diametrically opposed
to the manifesto cited by Joaquin.
Marx and Engels were referring to the need to remain independent from
the bourgeois currents and NOT to remain independent of the other
working class parties of the day--particularly not the Chartists and the
National Reformers.
