[Marxism] Trotskyism in Venezuela

There are no "foreign" ideas. Ideas are born somewhere, and people
in other locations must take them -if they find them useful- and give
them new life again. By new life I mean build them anew, not from
the doctrine but from the hot crucible of actual political life.
While this does not happen, then you are simply importing Marxism in
the same way others import Bourdieu, or Comte.

The basic issue in Latin America is protectionism of ideas.
Protectionism does not mean a doctrinary and philosophical wall. It
simply means that whoever wants to, for example, generate a
Venezuelan Trotskyism, this Trotskyism should _not_ be predicated on
the history of the 3rd. and 4th. International, but of the Venezuelan
people.

The greatest Trotskyist in Venezuela today is Simón Bolívar.
