Up until fairly recently, it was an article of faith by mainstream
economists that the market would pull oil prices down to the $30 a
barrel range.
$57 dollars may be down from $70, but it is still a long way from the
good old days. Now the oil marketeers seem to have reconciled themselves
to the $50 mark.
