The statement forwarded from the PCF to this list this morning
is actually better than I would have expected - because over recent
decades the PCF's adaptation to racism has gotten worse and worse.
There's all kinds of ways of sinking roots in the working class. The
PCF's route, in synch with its reformism, has been to not challenge--
or even to echo--the racism of one wing of that class.
The LO I can't speak for. But there are supposedly Trotskyist groups
which, while not reformist overall, have adopted reformist positions on
the national question -- i.e. "unite and fight" as opposed to
understanding the special character of oppressed nationalities'
situation. That may be the case here.

in the French working class than the LCR.
