[Marxism] Working Class Studies/Working Class Academics
below is - slightly altered - portion of post
that appeared on working class studies list,
any thoughts... mh
what difference does it make to identify oneself
with the working class in higher education, an
institution that, among other things, perpetuates
class inequities?
One reason working-class studies exists is to
increase attention to the working class in the
academy -- as a subject for serious study but
also as a legitimate position from which to speak.
So my question is this: what will it take to create
such a change, to generate greater respect and
visibility for working-class people and working-class
studies in the academy?
