Re: [Marxism] Unemployment fuels military enlistments

Though a rather indirect response to my question,
Carrol's observation about the category of "middle
class" is of course a good one, as I am painfully
reminded every time I present the "five-class model"
to my intro to sociology students. If you compare
three textbooks you will likely find three different
accounts
of which occupations fall into the upper-middle,
lower-middle, and working class categories. I can
think of no better example of the weakness of
mainstream social science.
