[Marxism] exporting english

i was talking with a student at my school yesterday. she and a friend
are going to Nicaragua next week for two weeks, some kind of "good will"
mission; the trip is hosted by the university Ministry. when she was
interviewed for the chance to join the trip, she was asked if she spoke
Spanish. she replied in the negative, fearful this would cost her the
opportunity. instead the priest says to her "that's good, it's better if
you do not know Spanish".

she was given no reason for this statement, nor did she ask what it meant.

i assume the worst here.
