[Marxism] The top 100 films celebrating and damning the atomic age
http://www.conelrad.com/conelrad100/index.html
As the site says, this list of the top 100 is not cast in stone.
Apparently you can give them some feedback.
It starts with what appears to be a fantastic girl/guy flick. It
combines a love story with bombing an alien people. I hope that there
is a DVD of it soon:
ABOVE AND BEYOND
DIRECTORS: Melvin Frank, Norman Panama
YEAR: 1952
Robert Taylor is Col. Paul Tibbets and Eleanor Parker is Lucy Tibbets
in the "love story behind the billion dollar secret." As the tagline
suggests, Hollywood actually managed to produce a romance set against
the dropping of the first atomic bomb. Made for an audience still
cheering the end of World War II and basking in an optimistic new age.
