I also want to suggest that the comparison is ill-matched.  I don't
think the contributions of Hitchens to the Left are anything comparable
to those of Orwell.  Orwell was a loss of a great writer and
accomplished comrade.  The loss of Hitchens was like a missing six-pack
at a party.
