[Marxism] Deaths 2000 and Wounded in Action?
According to http://icasualties.org/oif/ the total number of wounded in
action is over 15,000. Of these, as of April 3, there were 8061
returned to duty within 72 hours and 7159 more seriously injured. How
much more, we do not know.
There are anomalies in the figures. For example, for the week 15-Jun-05
thru 22-Jun-05, a chart on this site shows that there were 178
casualties that were returned to action, but 0 more serious injuries.
Glancing only, without doing the math, it appears that the average is
around 85 for the first category and 75 for the second.
So we might figure that there are now 10,000 in the Returned to Duty
category and 8,900 in the More Serious category for a total of 18,900
battlefield injuries.
IMO, these figures are quite high, when you consider that the troop
level is well below that of Vietnam and the difference in terrain and
improvement in medical science has improved the casualty rate for the
U.S. and its coalition allies.
