[Marxism] Pomeranz
Carrol Cox ___
Secondly, Lou's citation from Marx above, "Genesis of INDUSTRIAL
capital," also is irrelevant to the Brenner position. Brenner's works are
not concerned with the development of industrial capital but with the
initiation of _capitalist relations of production_, a quite different
matter.

CB: Yea but in that section on the "Genesis of INDUSTRIAL capital" Marx _is_
discussing the _original_ ("primitive") establishment of _capitalist
relations of production_ , not the development of industrial capitalism in
the 1800's. Just read it. It is not discussing the Industrial Revolution.
Better said the genesis of MANUFACTURING capital. So, in that section Marx
does directly contradict Brenner's thesis.
There is no way around the fact that Marx and Brenner disagree on this
issue. Doesn't mean Marx is right, just that he disagrees with Brenner.
