Re: [Marxism] The immigration thread

Subject: Re: [Marxism] The immigration thread
That's the thing, LG, about being a Yankee fan: charity is not virtue,
winning is. You know that better than me since you were brave enough to
carry the battle right into the belly of the beast, Fenway Park that is.
Don't forget carrying a portable electronic tote-board to flash up the home
phone numbers of unfriendly umpires whenever NY's TV cameras panned by.
I might say that what happened to the Yankees last night makes me more
abrasive than normal, but that would be a lie. What happened to the
Yankees last makes me more convinced than ever that, as one of the
millions of mini-Steinbrenners (I think inside every Yankee fan is a
little Georgy Porgy, just dying to come out-- something along the lines
of "Win or Leave"), the maxi-Steinbrenner has to go for the Yankees to
capture another World Series.
I'm agnostic when it comes to Steinbrenner. But if they lose this year I
may join your church.
I was opposed to letting Juan Rivera go after 2003-- thought he had
great potential-- good arm, good bat, great intensity. We also let Nick
Johnson go.... and Soriano. Opposed to losing all three.
Yes. For me, hindsight is wonderful. Was sorry to lose Soriano though
even while it was happening.
Taking pleasure in the Red Sox defeat without the Yankees winning is
like... well, it's like kissing your cousin... you only do it because
nothing else is available.
Ooh, gross. But, then, if he doesn't mind..:-)
