[Marxism] Judith Miller again

Louis and others have written extensively about Judith Miller’s role at the New York Times. Miller is long-time personal friend of Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger and her articles are justifiably viewed as the voice of the New York Times itself. Her support for the Iraq war was not just the errant writing of a hawk; it represented the considered political judgment of the U.S.’s most important newspaper.

When the Plame incident took place, Miller was not pursuing a story. She was participating in propaganda by the Bush White House against Joseph Miller. She was not protecting a source for a story. She was part of a conspiracy to blacken the image of Joseph Wilson, who had just “outed” the White House lies that Iraq had attempted to acquire nuclear material from Africa.

As the Downing Street Memo put it. “[T]he intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy ... to remove Saddam, through military action.” Judith Miller was part of “fixing” the intelligence and facts both in her articles and in the conversation with Libby.

Anyhow, here is an article on Judith Miller trying to explain why she was a “martyr” for so long:
