I would be in total agreement with this. The 1936 decision by the CPUSA
to tie its fortunes to the DP was one of the great tragedies of u.s.
history, and the enthusiasm with which the decision was carried out
provides grounds to keep Stalin out of it. In general, most of the
things that are blamed on Stalinism are either trivial or have much
deeper roots. I often stop reading an essay or post the moment the
writer starts talking about stalinists etc.
