Re: [Marxism] Be nice

While "turn the other cheek" is an admirable goal, I'm a firm believer that
the exclusive use of a tactic of non-response is a bad idea. Sometimes a
response is required.

There's a distinct difference between "getting all uppity", which I assume
means responding with a flaming message which is highly likely to provoke a
flame war, and responding semi-logical message which is more-or-less focused
on the topic.
Often, the latter tactic is more disarming to the flamer. This is basic
psychology -- when faced with an outraged person who is intent on wanting to
fight, sometimes (not always), an ultra-polite response will just confuse and
mellow the aggressor. (And other times a whack with a baseball bat may be
needed. :-)

While I'd like to think that -- and indeed, in many cases it does -- given
the present US administration, I have serious doubts.

Computers make it easier to do a lot of things, but most of the things they
make it easier to do don't need to be done.
