How so? A revolutionary period without resistance, to say nothing of a
party? I remember the reaction that set in among many former Westside L.A.
liberals and Progressives following the 1992 LA riots and fear something
similiar may happen now - in revulsion to the looting etc. SR

I'm far from being a Westside LA liberal. What I am is someone who sees the
conditions arising - a war that's draining the economy, demoralizing the
troops, etc., a jump in fuel prices, more extreme law enforcement (which IS
reaction), and a harsh drawing of class, race divide - for social convulsion.
Oppression breeds resistance. A new formation could and can appear from the
present debacle in a dialectical way. That or an existing organisation or
group, if
it responds in the right way, may suddenly receive a huge increase in
support. One thing we do know is that often material conditions can change
quickly,
and a spark can quickly develop into a raging inferno.
