Actually, regardless of his website, Paul Hacket was talking out of both
sides of his mouth in his Congressional race here in the Cincinnati
area. As I noted earlier, Joe Biden's also doing it nationally.
In one venue, they whine, "We're against the war" and, in another, "Bush
isn't managing it more effectively enough to win the war." This is the
tactic of the best of the Democrats, which is rather like saying the
least offensive part of the municipal sewage system. As though the
public and the Republicans aren't going to notice....
Although it's only a minority of the qualified voters, the Christian
electoral tide is going to continue to wash away this kind of detritis
and garbage unless the Democratic spokespeople build some character and
political base to anchor themselves.
And I'd not advise anyone to hold their breath on it.
