Actually, I kind of saw you and Godena as both complaining about her
retraction of the statement in different ways. And because I was writing
fast.

I have used your name before in posts.  Do bad things happen to people
who do so?  Should I have been trembling at the prospect?

Frankly, I'm all for research but your presentation always had the
overtone that Cindy Sheehan was lying when she said that she didn't say
that.  I thought that was the wrong way to approach this issue even if
you wanted to research the facts. I take Cindy Sheehan's honesty as a
given, and I never considered it up for grabs over this incident. That's
why my inclination was to accept as fact that she didn't say it as a
fact.  Glad everybody researched.   Glad she turned out to be right as
usual.

I also thought you showed irritation when George Saunders checking
tended to confirm that she did not say what she said she did not say.

But this is one of those things like a strike picket line where I give a
lot of credence to what the picketers say, and don't believe in trying
to nail them as liars and so forth. "Didn't you say such and such
yesterday?  Who's pressuring you? Etc."  I'm on Cindy's side in this
confrontation, period.

I assume you agree that supporting Cindy Sheehan doesn't hinge on her
supporting your line on Palestine, mine, the UFPJ's, ANSWER's, etc. If
anyone in this country has earned the right to say what she wants and
not say what she doesn't want, he's the one.

The fact that she is out on that road bravely stuffing the Iraq crime
into Bush's face and in some way representing a lot of other people--
and taking on associated issues as she pleases. A one-person broad,
united, all-inclusive protest.

And I start with her integrity and courage as a  given and proceed on
that basis.
