[Marxism] Palestine on Democracy Now!

Dear friends,

Democracy Now! has recently shown a distressing tendency to step lightly
around Palestine, in the interest of freeing up more time for Plamegate,
Plamegate, Plamegate.  But this morning makes up for a lot--a great show on
the Gaza withdrawal featuring Ali Abunimah of Electronic Intifada, and Dr.
Joseph Mattar, a half-mad settler from New York who hangs up in high dudgeon
rather than be on a show with Palestinians, thus nicely dramatizing the
separationist mentality of the settlers.  Abunimah is superb on the sideshow
quality of the removal, and the heart-wrenching media frenzy about seven
thousand settlers being moved from one red-tiled villa up the beach to
another, while West Bank Palestinians are being shot, evicted, and immured,
day after day--and while the occupation even of Gaza continues apace, only
in a different, more cost-effective form.
