It looks like this thread is dying out, and none too soon; wiedersehen to Ed 
the Idiot. Unfortunately Ed's 'Quatsch' (foolishness/nonsense) is symptomatic 
of a pretty deep problem here (in Germany). Outside of Linksruck and a few 
small groups and scattered individuals, it is very difficult to gain a hearing 
for pro-Palestinian arguments, for some of the reasons already mentioned here, 
primarily a guilt for the sins of our grandfathers which has been completely 
distorted and confused. To atone for the Holocaust, in other words, let's 
support a racist state and its policies of ethnic cleansing, collective 
punishment, expansionism, aggression against its neighbors, etc. One would 
think such vapid and twisted reasoning would be rejected by humane and 
intelligent progressive people, but again, Ed is sadly not alone in his 
demonization of the Palestinians and support for Israel. There are other, 
related issues about antipathy toward immigrants and so on that also help 
explain the
 "Antideutschen" perspective.

Even in the developed countries, revolutionary Marxists of *every*
stripe--Trot, Stalinist, Maoist, DeLeonist, Autonomist,
Levensteinist--are universally anti-Zionist.

Interesting anecdote; several years ago I visited Colombia with an IAC
delegation, attending a Sinaltrainal conference in Bogota. One of the
highlights of the weekend was a march to the American embassy. During
the demonstration, one of the slogans the workers started spontaneously
chanting was "Palestina para los palestinos"--Palestine for the
Palestinians.
