What's insane? Michael Shore's particular view or any and all views
that begin or conclude that the whole thing stinks of a set up?

Hmmh, let's see, I'm a jaded, cynical New Yorker-- US/UK are losing
allies, face, support, and control of the battlefield in Iraq faster
than you can say "Uh oh," the Downing Street Memo won't go away, 25%
of Republicans think Bush should be impeached if he lied about Iraq
(how about that? as Mel Allen used to say), both the US and UK
intelligence forces have long histories of the use of provocateurs to
generate reaction, etc....Wait a minute, now I'm a jaded, cynical,
INSANE, New Yorker...

Now, the above REALLY constitutes SOLID evidence of a conspiracy. It
ain't even circumstantial. It's stream of consciousness bullshit.

"Serious" Marxist analysis would point out how accidents never happen in
a perfect world, and this is capital's perfect world.

Capitalism's "perfect world"? My, my, but we're getting metaphysical,
aren't we. Sorry to inform you, but random events and accidents even
happen in this "perfect" capitalist world, historical contingency
even channels bourgeois events and determinacy doesn't mean agency.
And usually, the most plausible hypothesis -- i.e., the one to
consider and test against reality -- is the simplest and most
straightforward, the one that doesn't entail all kinds of ad hoc
explanations (conspiracy "theories"). Barring evidence to the
contrary, the simplest explanation is that some of the many people
that Blair, Bush and company have ticked off by blowing up their
homes have responded in kind.
