I want to partially agree with David. Fred should have much more
to say about this -- and so should David and the others calling for
unity. But not in this context. We should find ways to push unity
in our local antiwar groups, and to hook up with national unity efforts
-- for instance following NNOC's example by signing the unity statement
and soliciting other signers.


David McDonald:

Say it ain't so, Fred. This is the most important question before the
antiwar movement today. I have agreed with nearly everything you have
written. September 24 is two and a half months away. Lots can happen. It is
to early to check out of the debate. I'm not talking about answering the
same questions or charges again and again but watching and commenting as
this goes onward.
