COLOMBIA SUPPORT NETWORK 'S REPORT ON SAN JOSE MASSACRE
MADISON,JULY 5, 2005
The Colombia Support Network (CSN) is pleased to be able to
release the results of an investigation carried out by a fact-finding
CSN delegation from San Jose de Apartado¹s sister community of Dane
County (Madison) Wisconsin. The delegation investigated the massacre of
February 21, 2005, in which Peace Community leader Luis Eduardo Guerra
and 7 other persons were murdered. The following is the link to the
report of the delegation in our web site:
http://colombiasupport.net/2005/6_26_RPT/san_jose_investigation.htm
http://colombiasupport.net/2005/6_26_RPT/
The evidence collected clearly identified the Colombian Army
as responsible for the massacre, acting in collaboration with illegal
paramilitary forces of the A. U. C. The Uribe Administration has just
pushed through the Colombian Congress a measure giving effective
immunity to these paramilitary forces which are to be ³reinserted² into
civilian society. Write your Senators and Congressional Representative
today to tell them to vote against further aid to the Colombian military
unless and until the Uribe Administration punishes Colombian officers
responsible for human rights abuses and ends its support for
drug-trafficking paramilitaries, whose illegal activities place more
drugs on the streets of U.S. cities.
Please check the Action Center in our web to contact your Senators and
Representatives in Congress.
