This is the first time I have read that Chomsky was in the CofC (whole name
is actually Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, and
sometimes CCDS is used instead of CofC, COC tends to be less used). It would
surprise me very much if it where true, and I doubt very much it is.

Pete Seeger is indeed in the CofC, but not a leader.
