Moral outrage, sans class, seems common to both Hitchens and Cockburn, but the
latter remains on the left while the former has ensconced himself in rightist
waters. Still, I understand that Hitchens had reservations about Bush, and
supported investigating the vote in Ohio.
Hitchens was once on the board of NLR?

At http://www.marxists.de/culture/media/cockhitch.htm you'll find an
article on Christopher Hitchens and Alexander Cockburn which briefly
goes into their pre-history before they decamped to the States. The
article was written in 1998, before Hitchens' total degeneration into
pseudo-leftist pro-imperialism.

Just for the record, Hitchens was a member of the British International
Socialists, the forerunners of the British SWP, while he was a student
and for a short time afterwards about 30 years ago. He dropped out about
1975.
