It vaguely reminded me of the German film about the 'Experiment' in a jail.

You non economists might be interested to know that researchers in my field
have used
rat experiments to prove that people (rats) with less foresight become
impoverished,
showing that the poor are responsible for their plight. You can learn a lot
from
science.
