Fred's absolutely right on this.  The capitalist government sent
soldiers to Vietnam with weapons that jammed up and they're now sending
soldiers to Iraq with inadequate protection.  In both cases, they insist
that everyone chant that they "support our troops," but they're
absolutely callous about getting these soldiers killed and maimed.  In
the end, despite the luster of martial glory, they are treated no
differently than homefront factory fodder.

Indeed, we don't like automobiles either.  They're dangerous to people
who use them, to people who are around them, and to people who have to
share the atmosphere with them.  But making cars is part of what our
society does...part of what they force the working class to do.

So why wouldn't I object when the people who ignore these issues put
assembly line workers into a position where they're in danger?
