Let's go straight to the expert:
So, Lennie, what's the deal with the Times article today? Leaving aside the 
obvious sociobiologically-inspired errors, what was the class 
composition/occupational mix of Jews in the Middle Ages -- which the Times 
portrays in a way that assumes the premise of the study's authors is correct 
(i.e. the Jews were a homogeneous bunch of smart rich people, and therefore the 
task is to find a genetic origin of this homogeneity).
