[Marxism] Re Sociobiological tripe about Jewish "intelligence"

In a similar vein: I just recently gave a bastardized account of
Leon's "The Jewish Question" to my aged Irish mother and at least
succeeded in ridding her of the superstition that my Jewish pals from
the neighborhood are wealthier than me because "they've got money
making in their blood, or genes." I've been waiting to follow this up
by taking on her belief that we Irish are an alcoholic and violent
race because all that  poteen imbibed back home put the accursed
whiskey in our blood; and then moving on to discuss 800 years of
British colonialism. But now along come these sociobiologists claiming
that, in fact, the European segregation of the ashkenazim into money
making occupations has evolved a  genetically more intelligent strain.
This all sounds pretty Lamarckian to me-- ashkenazi jews have
inherited an acquired trait which they've passed onto to their
offspring (just as Ma always said!!) by natural selection. Am I not
getting it? I know a lot of basic biology but admit to never really
getting the neodarwinian synthesis. Come back Stephen Jay Gould. You'd
love this one.
