Yes, it all started with "harmless" academic "hypotheses" (a surprisingly
number of which were accepted as theories without a shred of experimental
basis). It all spiraled to 90% of the Roma, and 2/3 of the jews getting
killed.

What is next? Sickle cell is responsible for long dicks and athletic power?
Slippery road indeed.

It all has to do with trying to accept as science all kinds of pseudo
science. When the middle brow gets occupied by Popular Mechanics instead of
with Discover magazine.
