Re: [Marxism] Philippine Maoists denounce China
Most nations in today's world are capitalist. According
to the Socialist Workers Party (of the UK), and to the
International Socialist Organization (of the USA), Cuba
is either capitalist or state capitalist or bureaucratic
collectivist or some other bad thing, I forget which.
I'm prepared to admit I know nothing about the rebels
of Nepal. It's not a topic I've studied closely. Washing-
ton provided aid to "Communist rebels" in Cambodia
when they were called the Khmer Rouge. And then
we all got a chuckle over how Dutch intelligence set
up a Maoist political party and ran it for decates:

If anyone gets wind of a Chinese plan to sell Cuba out,
it will be of great interest. Please be sure to post the
news when it's received. Leon Trotsky was right when
he said that if we put a minus everywhere the enemy
puts a plus, it would make every sectarian into a great
revolutionary strategist. Similarly, if we look for evil,
we'll surely find it as this is a less than perfect world.
"To pretend that a country with the limited resources of
Cuba could build "socialism in one island," that it could
achieve economic independence if the U.S. embargo and
similar imperialist harassment were curtailed, ignores that
Cuba has always depended on the international capitalist
market (for example, in sugar), and that its current
opening to foreign capital only immerses it deeper into
that market at the expense of its working class. Rather
than the destruction of the international capitalist
system, its strategy is the attainment of a favorable
economic niche within the international market. The global
justice movement has successfully exposed over the past few
years who pays the price when these are the priorities.

LOUIS PROYECT WROTE:
"they should not give money to governments that are
conducting dirty wars against communist rebels. If it is
China's national interest to sell Cuba out next week, it
surely will. As should be clear, Cuba must be free to do
business with any capitalist nation in the world."
