I can only say I am extremely shocked and sad at learning of AGF's 
death.

Although I have been extremely critic of many of his ideas, both his 
evolution and mine had been bringing us nearer with time.  But of 
course this does not matter at all.  What really matters is the wood 
AGF was made of, the kind of man we have lost.

AGF was, above all, a honest man.  And, secondly, a man who was 
always trying to find ways to destroy the power of the imperialist 
bourgeoisie, living as he did at the core of the Empire.

After the December 2001 mobilisations in Buenos Aires, I was forced 
to reduce my participation on these lists because political activity 
in Argentina would make it impossible to keep it at the same level as 
before.  When I made the announcement, I received many answers, but 
let me say that the encouragement and understanding sympathy of AGF's 
message was an unexpected and warm gift.

André Gunder Frank was, above all, a militant in the struggle against 
capitalism.  And he struggled to his last breath.  All those who 
struggle for a world where no human lives off another human's tragedy 
will keep his memory in our hearts.  I guess this is exactly what he 
would have liked to happen, and it has happened.
