Actually, this puts the future Benedict XVI in a position similar to old
Theodor Adorno, who also was deeply shaken by a confrontation with students
at exactly the same time and is said as having died from it (in 1969).
Intersting that the 1960s, when the repressive ideological consensus of the
1950s Welfare State exploded, should serve as the litmus test for so many
Left liberals of all hues.
