RE: [Marxism] Hasan Akbar

I wouldn't be reluctant. I remember thinking that the soldier's action was
admirable at the time (in the context of an illegal invasion of a sovereign
country that would cost the lives of over 100,000 civilians in the course of
its 'war') and I still do.

Yesterday, Sgt. Hasan Akbar was convicted by court martial for the
murder of two officers, and attempted murder of others, two years ago,
in a rifle and grenade attack on the tactical operatons center at Camp
Pennsylvania, in Kuwait.

After the attack, many on the left, including subscribers to Marxmail,
were reluctant, and even opposed, to defending Akbar and calling for his
release.

Is there still that reluctance? Akbar faces execution.
