[Marxism] Re: Gwynfor Evans

From this article, I get the impression that after an active youth and
early career where he gained experience in the broader world, Gwynfor
returned to a family, stayed in one area and raised a family.

As his influence increased he was able to play an increasingly
important role in the political life of his region and over the years
his neighbors grew to trust him. He became well-known for his courage
and integrity.

What a shame that he wasn't in a party headed by someone like the U.S.
SWP's Jack Barnes, where one was uprooted at the drop of a hat and
shuffled from pillar to post,* usually just when you had become
well-known, to become an unidentifiable stranger selling a good, but
little known newspaper, and where your greatest achievement would be to
make or break a quota.

from Brian Shannon

* Running from pillar to post - from one thing to another without any
definite purpose. This is an allusion to the manege. The pillar is the
centre of the riding ground, and the posts are the columns at equal
distances, placed two and two round the circumstance of the ring.
