This is a mistake by the Church's ruling elite. A big one.
Choosing the name of Benedict and pretending that his spots
have somehow changed will not work.  The Church desperately
needs to liberalise and solve the manpower crisis by allowing
in womanpower in the form of ordained priests.

Ratzinger's election is like the choice of Brezhnev in the
Soviet union.  At one level it reassures the conservatives
but at another it does nothing to stop the rot within.

These fools understand nothing of the dialectic.

The irony is that this man, Ratzinger, who almost certainly
ghosted the Pope's last book, which denounced homosexuality
as evil is presiding over a church where a near majority of
the recruits  are homosexual.  Should they ever become "gay"
then we will have an intersting spectacle.
