Shit, this is trainspotting material... do not forget for one second that a
huge, quite important faction of the 4th International in Latin America
became the Posadists. A keystone of Posadista thought was the believe that
aliens existed, and that according to the laws of development, any society
capable of interstellar flight had to be a communist society, and hence the
aliens were communist comrades seeking to help revolutionaries. In his
later, even crazier years, Posada himself hinted at having a direct line to
the boys in green.

Granted, not a widespread movement, but the Posadistas were important and
active enough in, say, Cuba, that they had to be shot as
counter-revolutionaries.
