My point is that the debate on the language that was submitted to the states
was held in secret sessions. I did not mean to support the position that the
constitutional convention was a conspiracy.

After the adoption of the Constitution, each state, separately was
called upon to ratify the document. The debates in each of the
states was quite open and extensive. None of the provisions of the
Constitution were maintained as secrets, withheld from the ratifying
bodies.

Bourgeois conspiracy? Not hardly. Bourgeois compromise? Most
definitely.

The debate in the constitutional convention was vigorous and loud, but it
was not open in the sense that non-delegates could hear it. Deliberations
were secret and a detailed accoount of the proceedings was not available
until 1840 when James Madison's notes were published.
