Re: [Marxism] Pearl Harbor, etc.
Dear Comrades,
That and the racist attitude towards Japan mitigates the arguement of
fore knowledge of the Pearl Harbor attack. The embargo of raw materials too
Japan (a response to the Japenese occupation of Vichy ruled French Indo-China)
was
a major contribution to Japan's decision to go too war against the US, but
the Americans thought the Japenese were incapable of attacking the US Pacific
fleet HQed in Hawaii, rather they expected the attack to be in the Phillipines
and Marshall Islands. What wasn't expected was that the nazis and Italian
fascist would follow through with their promise to Japan to declare war on the
US,
a truely stupid move on the part of the Axis.
Peace&Socialism, Rick Page
